Apostrophes made to order

Another (book) case of apostrophe abuse. I just don’t get it. What is so hard about adding an “s” to the end of a word to make it plural? Just…a…simple…little…s. This is not rocket science, people!

At last! Someone of like mind! Apostrophe-s for a plural drives me nuts. I see it so often. I edit our church newsletter and bulletin and I was known as the Grammar Nazi, but that’s insensitive to some, so now I go by “Grammar Police.”

Heavy sigh…. Oh well, at least it was limited to the goofed plural. It could have read “Their maid to order”. ;)

Thanks for your note on my blog! We’re loving StoryBuilders.

    Blessings~

That’s one of my pet peeves as well. I’ve posted several times about such things. They really get on my nerves!!!

It’s rather grim out there in Grammarland. I have piles more of these saved for future Bad Signage offerings. We may as well laugh!

And thanks, Lis, for your StoryBuilders review.

Our new World of Imagination StoryBuilders will be debuting very soon!

Wow… I would go insane if I had to drive by that each morning. I wonder how much they paid for that sign.

Oh dear – that’s bad! LOL
These types of signs always drive me crazy.
This one has a weird phone number, so it must be foreign. I’d never buy my bookcase there, though!

Heidi, I think it’s Great Britain. Guess the Queen’s English isn’t immune to the grammar gremlin either. Too bad.
