Pizza printable writing prompt

by | Dec 7, 2016 | Writing & Journal Prompts

It’s time for another monthly printable to make writing lessons easy in your homeschool! With this prompt, your children imagine running a pizza shop. But this is no ordinary pizza shop: the patrons are animals!

Encourage your children to use their imagination to visualize the fictional scene before they start writing. Ask them:

  • What’s your favorite kind of pizza? Describe the crust, sauce, toppings, and cheese.
  • Do you think animals like pizza? Why or why not?
  • What kind of pizza might an animal like?

After this verbal brainstorming, have your young writers document their unique pizza recipes onto this printable writing prompt.

Pretend that you are opening a pizza shop for animals. Plan a menu of pizzas with toppings that would appeal to different animals. (If you’re interested, do a little online research to learn about the eating habits of various animals.) Then describe at least five pizzas you would create, and explain which animal would be interested in ordering each different pizza.
